The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, which was built by his wife Artemisia in memory of the Persian satrap Mousolos, is now a ruin in Bodrum. It is known as the Halicarnassus Mausoleum because the area where it is located was called Halicarnassus at that time. The mausoleum, which was started to be built in 352 BC, was a structure about 46 meters high with 11 columns supporting its pyramid-shaped roof. Its architects were Pytheos and Sayrus, and the sculptors working in it were Timotheos, Bryaris, Skopas and Loechares.
